The Giants need to move on from Eli Manning even if they don’t want too. The team has said that they plan to start Manning for the 2019 season. This means that with the sixth pick in draft the Giants need to draft their next Franchise Quarterback. That QB is going to be Dwayne Haskins.

Haskins has the potential to go top 5 in the draft if the Giants trade up to get him. He is built for the NFL. He’s 6’3″, 220lb’s. Him and Kyler Murray are considered the top 2 QB’s in the draft. Now there are pros and cons for the Giants drafting Haskins. Other teams like the Jags and Dolphins are also good candidates for him. So they might have to trade up and give up some draft picks or players. In his 2018-19 season at Ohio State he threw for 4831 yards and 50 touchdowns. He finished third in the Heisman Voting. I belive he should have come second or even won it with the year he had at Ohio State.

He has an elite arm, mobility in the pocket, can read defenses with his eyes, great accuracy at all three levels and poise in the pocket. Now those are traits you want in a QB. His downsides are experience and a tendency to rush throws while under pressure.Only starting on one year could hurt him in the long run.

With Manning still the QB in 2019, Haskins could sit a year to learn from a veteran quarterback. The chiefs did this with Patrick Mahomes and look how good he did this year. Haskins has openly said we would love to play for the Giants also. For the Giants, picking Haskins is a no brainer.
