The Combine allows players to show off their skills and put on a show for scouts and GM’s. There are both winners and losers in the combine. I won’t be talking about the losers in this article. With that out-of-the-way, the winners in my view are D.K Metcalf, Dwayne Haskins, Quinnen Williams and Noah Fant.
All four of these players improved or solidified their spot as a first round draft pick. First off is D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss. Metcalf is just an absolute monster. He has the perfect combine of strength, height and speed. He is listed at 6’3″ – 228 pounds and ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. That’s insane but he also benched 27 reps and had a 40.5 inch vertical. His draft stock drastically went up during and after the combine. Dwayne Haskins showed off his throwing skills during the passing drills. His 40-yard dash time was a measly 5.04-seconds but that won’t have any affect on his draft position because he is a pure pocket passing QB. If anything, that 40 yard time only solidified that fact.

He had an incredible 40-yard dash time for a DT weighing over 300 pounds. His time was 4.83 seconds. His 10 yard split being at 1.69 seconds was more impressive in my opinion. He has a great chance to be the first defensive player taken in the draft. Now last but not least was Noah Fant. Iowa always produces great TE’s and Noah is no exception. He had the best performance of all the TE’s at the combine. He wasn’t considered first round material before the combine. Now I think he is worthy of a first round draft pick.
